Lionfish Safety
Lionfish are venomous, not poisonous.
The difference between the two is in the method of the delivery. Venom must be injected into the blood stream via an apparatus (the lionfish venom is injected via their spines) to cause injury but is harmless if eaten.
Just remove the spines (or as us to!) located on the dorsal, pelvic and anal regions and eat up!
